Falcon International Bank Completes Exterior Renovation of 17th South Texas Branch

McAllen branch's attractive new facade heralds more good to come

McAllen, TX, Oct. 7, 2008—This month, Falcon International Bank is excited to announce the completion of an extensive exterior renovation to its 17th and newest branch. Located in front of La Plaza Mall at 2011 S. 10th St. in McAllen, the branch officially opened its doors on Wednesday, July 2—only three days after its previous tenants vacated—and was fully operational through the duration of the construction.

"It has always been important to Falcon to pursue opportunities in the markets we know best," said Adolfo Gutierrez, CEO and Chairman of the Board. "Even in an uncertain economy, the quick and efficient opening and renovation of the La Plaza Mall branch exemplifies one such opportunity."

Immediately after taking ownership of the building on June 29, Falcon hired Dominion Construction to replace the façade's old brick with more modern stucco and stone. Today, the 4,040 square foot building is a beautiful and contemporary addition to the thriving McAllen area.

The La Plaza Mall branch marks Falcon's third location in McAllen, and Paul Quintero, Jr., formerly a business development coordinator for the region, has been appointed branch manager. With 23 years of banking experience, he will oversee all banking functions, including operations, retail banking, and lending—as well as the continued interior renovations.

"We are a community oriented bank committed to providing our customers with the quality service that they deserve," said Roberto Martinez, President of Lower Rio Grande Region. "The remodeling that we have done to the Sanborn's building provides very convenient full service location for our customers to do business."

Since early 2008, the bank has expanded its branching network by three locations and has realized over 12 percent asset growth. Now boasting assets in excess of $900 million, Falcon is on target to meet President and COO Gilbert Narvaez Jr.'s forecast of $1 billion in assets by mid-2009. Falcon's steady growth recently garnered an appearance in Hispanic Business magazine, when the publication rated Falcon the 93rd largest Hispanic-owned company in the U.S. The 22-slot jump from 2007 also explains Falcon's place on the magazine's 100 Fastest Growing U.S. Companies list.

"We are excited by our continued growth," said Gutierrez, "and we are ready to, at a moment's notice, take new opportunities."
