On Thursday, January 31st, Falcon International Bank hosted a grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new branch in McAllen, TX. Located at 500 East Business Highway 83, this is the fourth new branch in the last year for Falcon, which opened others in Brownsville, Eagle Pass, and Laredo in 2007. Leticia Echazarreta, who holds over 20 years of banking experience, serves as manager of the beautiful, 6,000 square-foot location.
Paul Quintero Jr., business development officer for the McAllen region, opened the ceremony by welcoming the attendees. Quintero then introduced McAllen's Regional President, Roberto Martinez Jr., and called for a show of hands from the McAllen staff. Before providing a blessing of the new facility and its staff, Quintero also welcomed Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board Adolfo E. Gutierrez, President and Chief Operating Officer Gilbert Navarez, Jr., as well as Senior Executive Vice Presidents Ana P. Valdez and Ray A. Gonzales. Steve Alehnius, president of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce, Cynthia Sakulenzki, McAllen Hispanic Chamber president, and Marisol Peña, Pharr Chamber president, together cut the ceremonial ribbon, symbolizing a new day of business for Falcon International Bank and the McAllen community.
"We are so excited that such a large number of community and Falcon leaders attended the ribbon-cutting event," says Roberto Martinez, Jr., regional president. "We are grateful both to the McAllen and Pharr communities for their support, and we look forward to serving them both for many years to come."
A full-service banking facility, the McAllen branch provides a variety of financial services and products to its customers, including personal and business checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, money market accounts, IRAs, and auto loans, as well as commercial and residential mortgages.
The opening of the McAllen branch is the latest milestone in a period of unrivaled growth for Falcon International Bank. Current assets are in excess of $815 million, an impressive 20 percent increase since December of 2006, and the bank employs more than 350 people. Founded in Laredo, Texas, Falcon now has branches across South and Central Texas—including its first McAllen location at 220 N. 10th St. and a future McAllen branch at 6301 N. 10th St.—and is presently the 115th largest Hispanic-owned business in the United States.
