In an effort to protect its customers from identity theft and fraud, Falcon International Bank is implementing a powerful system to monitor account activity. The prosperous south Texas bank has partnered with SHAZAM, a company well known for providing vigorous technical and operational support for financial institutions. Effective immediately, Falcon will be utilizing SHAZAM's Risk Assessment, Detection And Response tool, (R.A.D.A.R), to protect account holders. Customers need only to provide Falcon with current contact information.

According to the Federal Trade Commission, more than 26,000 Texans were victims of identity theft in 2006. Gartner, Inc., a leading information technology research and advisory company, claims the number of identity theft victims in the U.S. has increased by more than 50 percent since 2003. "All sensitive electronic data needs to be protected," says Gartner Vice President and analyst Avivah Litan. "Enterprises should be aware that the low hanging fruit for the criminals is electronic card and checking account numbers, as well as user IDs and passwords for online financial accounts."

SHAZAM R.A.D.A.R services include threshold reporting, which tracks unusual or high-risk activity, address verification, and card authorization services. Its fraud alert services are supported through MasterCard, which monitors all Cirrus ®and Maestro ® PIN transactions.
