Falcon International Bank Welcomes Two Longtime Laredo Bankers to its Family (9-Apr-09)Senior officers Albert Ortiz and Eduardo Silva feel 'more than welcomed'
Falcon International Bank is pleased to welcome longtime Laredo bankers Albert Ortiz, and Eduardo Silva to its family. These professionals bring with them extensive knowledge and expertise, and are a natural fit to the continued growth and success of the company.
Albert Ortiz joins the bank as a consumer loan officer. "As a lender, I take great pride in helping people in their time of need," Ortiz said. "Not only by granting them loans but by helping them understand credit in general, and the importance of maintaining a good credit record."
Ortiz is a graduate of Laredo's Martin High School, with a certificate in banking and finance from the American Institute of Banking (AIB). A firm believer in contributing to the community, he is a member and board member of the Laredo Noon Optimist Club, a civic organization that supports youth-oriented activities within its communities. He also served as the club's president in 1995 and the zone's Lieutenant Governor in 2004.
Of joining Falcon, Ortiz said, "As a new employee of Falcon International Bank, I felt and continue to feel very welcomed by management, officers and staff. I believe that this organization has a lot of potential to continue growing, and I hope to be a part of that growth for many years."
Eduardo Silva joins the bank as first vice president of lending His responsibilities include reviewing and underwriting consumer loan requests for the bank, and he cites the most enjoyable aspect of his job as helping customers fill an immediate financial need.
Of his new position, Silva said, "The staff at Falcon is extremely friendly and have made me feel more than welcomed. I am happy to be a part of this great team."
Silva is a past volunteer for the United Way and March of Dimes, and former treasurer and member of the Laredo Evening Lions. A native Laredoan, he is a Martin High School graduate and earned his bachelor's of business administration from Laredo State University. Silva remains current on banking trends and practices by attending various banking and lending seminars.
