Falcon International Bank President and CEO Gilbert Narvaez, Jr. takes great pleasure announcing the promotion of two individuals Ramon Ibarra to Executive Vice President/Chief Internal Auditor and Erik Ommen to Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Officer. These employees were recognized at a recent Falcon Bank Staff meeting for their personal and professional dedication and commitment which serves as a vital link in the chain that drives our company.
Ramon Ibarra promoted to executive Vice President/Chief Internal Auditor
Ibarra joined Falcon 20 years ago. His professional studies include a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas A&M International University. Outside Falcon bank he enjoys auto mechanics, reading and spending time with his family especially his wife Alma Leticia Ibarra and daughter Kimberly Marie Ibarra.
Ibarra has always shown initiative in the performance of his duties, with developing strategies to ascertain and effective internal audit operation. Going above and beyond what is expected of him, he ensures regulatory requirements meets the robust compliance management program expectations in which we operate. It’s gratifying he says to be able to make a positive difference within the organization.
In a competitive environment we live in today, it is a challenge to sustain a business with conservative family values and continue to succeed. Erik J. Ommen Promoted to Executive Vice President and Chief Compliance Office
With 25 years in the banking industry, including 13 at Falcon International Bank Erik J. Ommen originally from Elkader Iowa earned his master’s degree in international banking and finance from Texas A&M International University. Ommen gives back to the community by serving on the Board of Directors for Junior Achievement of South Texas, teaching the JA curriculum in various schools. He also serves on the Laredo College Continuing Education Advisory Board.
Ommen, is responsible for monitoring and directing daily operations and regulatory compliance. His position ensures that the Board of Directors, management and employees are in compliance with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies and that the behavior in the organization meets the company’s standards of conduct.
