On April 27, Viridiana Vela was promoted to an officer position as senior credit analyst at Falcon International Bank.
At Falcon’s East branch, Vela is responsible for providing support to the lending department and other areas by preparing credit authorizations, financial/cash flow analyses and conversion of foreign financial statements. She also reviews documentation and lends her expertise to exceptions, spreads, reports, trainings and special projects.
“The most enjoyable aspect of my job is also the most challenging,” Vela says, “which is to approach new, interesting situations on a regular basis. It’s great to be part of a team-oriented environment that allows the opportunity to share our knowledge and experience with each other.”
A native of Nuevo Laredo/Laredo, Vela has been with Falcon for five years. She has a BBA in Finance from Texas A&M International University and has continued her education with the International Banking Association of Texas and the Texas Banking Association. Courses completed include the Credit Analysis Summit (IBAT), Advanced Credit Analysis Summit (IBAT), Texas Secured Lending course (TBA), and other related webinars.
Vela believes in giving back to her local community, donating to the United Way and the American Heart Association. Falcon wishes her congratulations on her promotion!
